I started my photo journey with birding. It was a great way to learn my camera settings. Trying to follow a Carolina wren around the yard and getting a picture in focus felt much like Rocky Balboa trying to catch a chicken. I like to take my camera with me everywhere. Adventure awaits just outside the door, and I am ready to capture it.
What I shoot…
Birds
The scrub jay is a boisterous and gregarious bird endemic to the U.S. state of Florida. Watching them playfully dive bomb my family on a walk had me doubled over with laughter.
Butterflies
Growing gardens instead of fertilizing lawns has helped bring many monarchs to the yard. Planting hosts plants keeps them laying eggs and spinning chrysalis.
Landscapes
Traveling to destinations like the Chicago Field Museum have garnered many opportunities for capturing beautiful landscapes. And why not architecture; it’s Chicago!
